It's because they dont blood barrage bloblets but chin them. Ely allows them to do this. So because they only barrage nibblers the damage reduction is way better than the small increase of hits on the nibblers. The way I’ve seen it used is to switch to it quickly before you get hit to negate some of the damage.I'm pretty sure Thermy is still faster for an occult but regular smoke devils is just so much better for general account progress and you probably get an occult before finishing the hydra grind.
