Myth has the power to preserve the names of people who would otherwise be forgotten, but often at the price of losing the true person.Myles Keogh, born in 1840 to a farming family in Leighlinbridge, County Carlow, Ireland, would lead a life of swashbuckling adventure.Keogh would leave Ireland to serve in the Papal Army, would fight at Gettysburg in the Union Army, and would be killed as an officer with Custer's 7th Cavalry at the Battle of the Little Bighorn in June 1876.
